Snorkel Diver

Snorkelling is the most common way that people first get to enjoy the magnificence of the underwater world. 

Seeing the underwater world for the very first time can be an incredibly magical experience but very often the fun can be diminished somewhat by the wrong equipment, incorrect techniques which make you uncomfortable or just some nerves. 

At Wraysbury Dive Centre our Snorkelling course is designed to give you the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to go out snorkelling safely and happily.

What does the course consist of?

Your course starts as soon as you sign up.  You will get some online theory to read which will introduce you to snorkel skills, safety information and amazing information about underwater life.

When you come to Wraysbury Dive Centre you will be introduced to your snorkelling instructor.  They will discuss your course with you, including safety, planning, equipment and most importantly how we snorkel to make it as much fun as possible.

The first session in the water will take place in our confined water area - a shallow enclosed area, specifically made for practicing skills in a safe environment.  You will be introduced to equipment and how to select the correct items for you.  You will start learning how to use a mask, snorkel and fins, how to work with a buddy, entry and exit techniques and how to help each other if the need arises.

During your second session you will get to practice all your newly acquired skills out in the open water lake.  We have a specially designed snorkel trail with lots of unusual but interesting things to see and information boards about all the life that can been seen in the lake but also out in the UK seas.

Now that you have completed your snorkel course and realised what you have been missing out on, just imagine what it would be like to be fully submerged and go a little deeper.  If this excites you it may be time to undertake a try scuba course or gain your first diving certification.
