Assistant Instructor

As an Assistant Instructor, you not only gain additional experience as a Professional scuba diver, but you also start learning the System of diver education. You can act as an instructional scuba assistant and assume limited teaching responsibilities. It’s a great way to gain the experience required in order to become a full Open Water scuba instructor!
What does the course consist of?

The Assistant Instructor course is the first step towards becoming an instructor.
 
You build upon your abilities to organize and supervise scuba diving activities, while concentrating on developing teaching skills. You learn all this in various ways:

  • Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
  • Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
  • Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations

Things to do after you qualify: Buy Dive Kit
You may have already bought your first dive toys but if you have not you may be considering venturing to make that first purchase.  We would always recommend that you purchase your dive equipment from a dive shop rather than shopping online (and its not just because we have a dive shop on site).  Buying in person allows you to try things on so that you get the right fit, get the right advice and kit for the type of diving that you intend to do and benefit from the experience of those that actually go diving.  You may also end up with a better deal than you imagined.
