During the course, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organise, solve problems and help others improve their diving.
As you progress through the divemaster course, your diving knowledge will expand, scuba skills will get sharper and your confidence will increase. As a divemaster you will use these attributes to lead, mentor and motivate divers and watch as they become awesomer with you.
The Divemaster course costs £425 plus the cost of your learning materials (this varies depending on the cost of the materials from the dive agency).
At the completion of your course you will be subject to annual membership fees payable to your dive agency.
At Divemaster level the course fee does not include equipment rental – you will be expected to have your own or pay for hire.
Be a Rescue Diver or hold a qualifying certification from another certification organization
Be at least 18 years old
Have 40 logged dives.
Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certificate gained within the last 24 months
Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a HSE diving physician within the last 12 months
