Peak Performance Buoyancy

As divers we like to be able to control where we are in the water – whether we sink, float or remain motionless at any specific depth.  It can be a tricky thing to master but those who do, stand apart. You’ve seen them underwater – they glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover, almost as if by thought.  They interact gently with aquatic life and have minimal impact on their surroundings.  So, now it’s time to build on the fundamentals learnt on your Open Water Course and become the buoyancy master you’ve always dreamed of.

What does the course consist of?

On your PPB course at Wraysbury Dive Centre you will learn:

  • The theory of perfect buoyancy -  how to perfect your equipment configuration and trim to make you perfectly balanced in the water
  • How to make sure you are properly weighted so you’re not too light nor too heavy
  • How to ensure that you are as streamlined as possible to reduce any drag
  • Different finning techniques to help you move smoothly and efficiently through the water
  • How to hover with minimal effort in any position

What can I do after this course?
Things to do after you qualify: Rescue Diver
The Rescue Diver course is the logical next step for the majority of Advanced Open Water Divers.  You will learn the next stage in not only looking after yourself but also how to prevent emergencies and care for others if one should arise.  It's a serious course but huge amounts of fun!
Things to do after you qualify: Go on Dive Trips
At Wraysbury Dive Centre we organise dive trips both at home in the UK and abroad.   Trips are organised for all levels of diver.  Just keep an eye on our trips page here and on our facebook page for upcoming events
Things to do after you qualify: Buy Dive Kit
You may have already bought your first dive toys but if you have not, you may be considering making that first purchase.  We would always recommend that you purchase your dive equipment from a dive shop rather than shopping online (and its not just because we have a dive shop on site).  Buying in person allows you to try things on so that you get the right fit, get the right advice and kit for the type of diving that you intend to do and benefit from the experience of those that actually go diving.  You may also end up with a better deal than you imagined.
