Night Diver

Night diving can be some of the most exhilarating and exciting diving you can experience.  You may have dived a site many times over but it becomes a whole new world in the dark, as new life begins to emerge under the glow of your torch.  Learn how to make diving in the dark safe, fun and magical.

What does the course consist of?

The night diving course will consist of:

Knowledge Development: Through homework, and the vast knowledge of your Instructor you will learn about the following-

  • How to plan and organise night dives
  • Techniques and potential problems of night diving
  • Considerations for proper buoyancy control in the dark
  • Considerations for navigation during night dives
  • The proper use of dive lights, including animal behaviours
  • In addition to the usual scuba diving equipment you use, you will be introduced to using dive torches

Open Water Dives: You will complete two/three open water dives, where you put the above theory into action.  You may have the opportunity to have the large but friendly pike hunt by your torch light, view the numerous crayfish or witness the multitude of perch sleeping on the lake floor.  All these unique occurrences are only possible in the twilight hours which you will discover over the three dives you will complete with us.

What can I do after this course?
Things to do after you qualify: Rescue Diver
The Rescue Diver course is the logical next step for the majority of Advanced Open Water Divers.  You will learn the next stage in not only looking after yourself but also how to prevent emergencies and care for others if one should arise.  It's a serious course but huge amounts of fun!
Things to do after you qualify: Go on Dive Trips
At Wraysbury Dive Centre we organise dive trips both at home in the UK and abroad.   Trips are organised for all levels of diver.  Just keep an eye on our trips page here and on our facebook page for upcoming events
Things to do after you qualify: Buy Dive Kit
You may have already bought your first dive toys but if you have not, you may be considering making that first purchase.  We would always recommend that you purchase your dive equipment from a dive shop rather than shopping online (and its not just because we have a dive shop on site).  Buying in person allows you to try things on so that you get the right fit, get the right advice and kit for the type of diving that you intend to do and benefit from the experience of those that actually go diving.  You may also end up with a better deal than you imagined.
